There is great joy in cracking open books from your childhood and re-reading them. I’m not a fan of e-books, I like the smell of a good book and flipping the pages as I move my bookmark along. It gives me wonderful satisfaction!
It didn’t take me long to choose my box set of the Chronicles of Narnia, (which I haven’t read since I was a little girl), as my next book adventure. I have lost a lot of the details surrounding these stories from my memory and I thoroughly enjoy the familiarity of the characters and situations without remembering what happens next!
I am reading The Magician’s Nephew as the first book in the series. I love the artistic work involved in the pages and the shortness of each chapter. It’s easy to pick up where I left off without forgetting names or what has happened. Overall, a very easy read, which is exactly what I was going for after finishing Leviticus (NIV Bible) and beginning Numbers (NIV Bible).
I have had some anxiety trying to creep into my every day life over the last week, but I am keeping busy and doing what I enjoy to counter it. If I need to make that list again of the things that are causing the anxiety, I have a pen and paper ready to go! Today I felt pretty tired and didn’t read much but hopefully tomorrow will be better. I’m about a quarter into The Magician’s Nephew so I don’t imagine it will take too long to finish; the story line is gripping and when I read it, it is very hard to put down. Happy Reading Everyone!
