Trying the “Lazy Genius” Method when sick!

Despite our family being sick for the last week and a half on and off, I’ve managed to find the joy in being close to home.

A kind neighbour brought me a new book to check out entitled “The Lazy Genius Way: Embrace What Matters, Ditch What Doesn’t, and Get Stuff Done”. Do I ever need some life hacks right now to do just that. This book is full of great ideas so far, and I’m only on the 3rd chapter. I love books that are practical.

Its advice: Decide Once, Start Small, and Chapter 3 is all about asking the magic question:”What can I do now, to help me later?”

When I was feeling a bit better yesterday, I went grocery shopping and bought some frozen dinners to help things out. Today, I am so glad I did. I do not feel like cooking at all. I also recognize I can not just throw in the towel, so starting small in my cleaning and what I am able to do is huge in allowing myself to recover and keeping us functioning. An activity package for my little guy keeps him busy and allows me to put on my healing music that is soothing amidst the coughing. I find this and proper rest are really helping my mood to stay positive and fun although in reality, I just want to curl up under some soft blankets for a few days and not come out. Being a mom forces you to give it your best.

It’s also given me some time to think about my eldest’s birthday coming up in a few weeks. I’m really hoping this will all be behind us by then!

This is going to be a short post for today, I will come back on next week to check in!

Have a beautiful day!
