God is just getting started!

I write this from my new apartment, my dog lying down at my side. My children sleeping in their rooms. It is a sweet peaceful time, and I am reminded of God’s faithfulness.

My apartment is brand new, all appliances (except the oven), the floors, cabinets, shower, paint job, all prepared for me, their first tenant. My landlord treats me like his daughter and is so kind, I have truly been blessed. The divorce is almost finalized now with everything going incredibly smooth. The boys’ father and I are on good terms and I am well taken care of.

Lately God has been challenging me to begin looking at houses for sale. My apartment contract isn’t up until next April but I feel an urgency to begin looking now so I obediently began doing this as of yesterday. It is fun to dream and see what I like and what I don’t like.

In addition to this, I felt this incredible urge to declutter, (a lot!) and begin cleaning, God even had me buy a putty knife for the walls where there are blemishes from the art I put up. In the natural it makes no sense but I have learned not to question the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Another thing God had me begin doing was taking care of my nails. For the last few months I have enjoyed acrylic nails and french manicures. Last week I began doubting and had them removed. That did not last long! I have an appointment tomorrow to have them put back on. It’s the one thing I like to do for myself and it is so nice to depend on nails that will not break! Not to mention they look great and make me feel amazing.

I have really been enjoying time with my kids. I’ve learned when it comes to them, patience and listening are key. I found a great book called “Kids Are Worth It” by Barbara Coloroso and it has really been helping me understand their emotional behaviours and connect with them on a deeper level.

I enjoyed another concert by Love & The Outcome where I got to see them second row from the front and meet them in person with a photo. They were fantastic! This month I attended a string quartet candlelit concert performing a tribute to Celine Dion. It was magical and they played all the songs I loved, not to mention it was fun to get dressed up. Next month I have made plans to see a glow-in-the-dark ballet based on a fairy tale. The costumes are actually lit up! I am so excited. All of these cost between $30-$45. (Less than my nails! haha)

God really did a major work in my life about two weeks ago. It was something I never really talked about on my blog, but I was estranged from my family for 10 years. We finally had THE phone call and are now back in my life. God is so good! I am making plans to take a 5 hr trip to see them after all this time. Having my mom and dad in my life again is wonderful and I have had a number of really great conversations with them since. In the Bible it talks about that in the last days children will return to their fathers and fathers to their children. It came to pass in my life.

As the mystery of God’s will for my life continues to unravel, I will keep updating. I know he is just getting started and indeed, the very best is yet to come. “For their latter years will be better than the former ones”.

Have a beautiful day,

Lindsey
